It's National Friends of Libraries Week Oct. 20-26!

Did you ever wonder what the Friends of the Library do? The answer - a LOT! Among other duties, they raise money to help maintain the library’s budget, provide funding for the summer reading program, and volunteer at events throughout the year, including the library's annual fundraiser, "Fall for Your Library." The Friends also help establish and grow community partnerships, operate regular book sales, and manage donated materials. But above all, they are a group of volunteers who love books, understand the vital role WACL plays in the community, and want to promote the library's programs and services. We couldn't do what WE do without THEM!

October 20-26 is the 19th annual National Friends of Libraries Week! Take a moment to visit their page at About the Friends to learn more about this wonderful group of volunteers...and maybe even join!
