Solar Observing & the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse
Larry McHenry, amateur astronomer, will present an introduction to solar features visible on our nearest star - the Sun - and safe solar observing techniques, using both white-light and H-alpha solar filters. Additionally, we'll discuss where to go and how to observe the upcoming October 14, 2023 Partial Solar Eclipse and the April 8, 2024 Total Solar Eclipse. After the indoor talk concludes, attendees will have the opportunity to safely view the Sun on a solar telescope (weather permitting).
