Dogs of Chernobyl
Stephen Quandt, a feline behaviorist and animal welfare professional with the Animal Care Centers of NYC, recently visited Chernobyl as part of a campaign to spay, neuter, and conduct research. His hour-long presentation features photos and video from the abandoned towns of Pripyat and Chernobyl City, in the exclusion zone around the plant. It offers a rare look at Chernobyl and the dogs (and some people) who continue to live there; is at times poignant and in the end hopeful. A true story of resilience, hope, life and even heroism. This virtual event is presented via Zoom in partnership with ACLA West Region libraries.
