The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is offered free to qualifying individuals. IRS-certified volunteers provide basic federal, state, and local income tax return preparation with electronic filing, including rent rebate and other deductions.
Volunteers will prepare state and federal taxes by appointment only (NO WALK-INS) during February—April. All interested residents should call the library at 724-695-8150 to schedule beginning January 15. Space is limited, so please call early.
This program is intended for senior citizens and low-income residents. You MUST make an appointment. No-shows will NOT be rescheduled.
You are not eligible for VITA if you have property that you rent to someone else, own a business, have a limited partnership in a business or your gross income is more than $54,000. No out-of-state returns.
