Western Area Friends to Enhance the Library

Through various fundraising and volunteer efforts, W.A.F.E.L. has helped build and support the Library since 1989. W.A.F.E.L. raises money to maintain the library’s budget, donates prizes for the annual teen read-a-thon, provides 100% of the funding for the summer reading program, and contributes money and volunteer time for programs throughout the year.

New members are always welcome! A family membership is available for $5, $3 for individual. Meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the library. Active members also participate in volunteering at W.A.F.E.L.-sponsored activities. Membership privileges include early entry to the book sale. Download the W.A.F.E.L. brochure and complete an application today.

Book Sales

In addition to our ongoing book sale in the library, W.A.F.E.L. hosts two large book sale events every year in the Spring and Fall. Donations of gently used reading materials, media, and puzzles are accepted year-round to help with this effort. We also welcome volunteers to help set up and break down the event. Stop by the customer service desk to donate items or learn more about volunteering at the book sale.
