The library continues to grow thanks to the generosity of people like you. Your financial gift helps us inspire, engage, and educate the community through high quality, fun, creative, and informative programming and services.

Checks made out to Western Allegheny Community Library (or WACL) can be mailed to:

You can also donate your time, provide in-kind support, attend an event, or help spread the word about our wonderful library. However you choose to give, we thank you!
Contributions to the library may be made in memory, honor, or celebration of a loved one, or to commemorate a special occasion. For a minimum gift of $25, a new book will be added to the collection with a bookplate acknowledging your special gift. You may select an area of interest for your tribute book, or our library staff would be happy to choose a quality item for you. We can also send a card to the honoree acknowledging your gift in his or her name. Download and complete the Tribute Book Form.
Double or even triple your financial gifts through your employer’s matching gift program. Some companies also match volunteer hours or the contributions of spouses and retirees. Check with your employer’s HR office and submit the required documentation with your donation. We will take care of the rest and maximize your gift!
You can also help the Library by donating used reading materials and media, professional services, supplies and more.

Events & Promotions
Our wonderful friend’s group, Western Area Friends to Enhance the Library (WAFEL), hosts two book sales each year – one in the fall and one in the spring. These extremely popular sales offer lightly used books, movies, puzzles and more. Most items are sold $5 per bag, with some items individually marked.
Annual Fundraising Event
Join us for the library’s annual fundraising event, Fall For Your Library. Last year’s event was a tremendous success, raising over $17,000 for the library. Guests enjoyed wine and food pairings from around the world while they mingled with fellow library lovers and listened to the music of Dan Hanczar. And each year the silent and Chinese auctions offer amazing prizes such as vacation packages, dining and entertainment packages, sports memorabilia, electronics and more.
