Counterfeiting, Forgery, & Knockoffs

October 14 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

|

Have you ever purchased brand name products and later realized they were knockoffs? Or have you ever received currency or checks that didn’t look genuine or found your checking account depleted by a con artist using a smartphone and your forged signature? Maybe your latest pharmaceutical prescription drugs don’t seem to work correctly, or the expensive cosmetics you just bought at a sale price don’t perform as they have in the past.

Richard D. Warner is a security printing consultant and risk management advisor with over 35 years of field experience. In this presentation he will address how to reduce your chances of being “taken in” by counterfeiters, knockoff artists, and organized criminals. Mr. Warner will share some of his field experiences he has had with government agencies in the USA, Canada, and Europe in apprehending notorious criminals and organized terrorists engaged in counterfeiting USA currency. There will also be a live demonstration on how to test U.S. currency and bank checks to see if they are counterfeits or genuine. Signed copies of Warner’s most recent publication, Introduction to Security Printing, will be available for purchase.
