Charity Golf Classic to Help Build the Backyard

If you’ve stopped by the library recently, you’ve probably noticed that construction has begun on the “Backyard” – the library’s new outdoor space that is expected to open early this summer!

In addition to expanding the library’s usable space and creating an opportunity for new programs, the Backyard has helped establish an exciting new partnership between the library and the Parkway West Rotary Club (PWRC). PWRC is helping to fund a portion of the Backyard with proceeds from the 19th Annual Gerry Dulac Charity Golf Classic!

This summer golf outing will take place Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the Sewickley Heights Golf Club. Golfers will be treated to a full day event including breakfast,18 holes of scramble golf on one of Western Pennsylvania’s top private clubs, contests, prizes, a souvenir gift, dinner, and an awards program featuring comments and Q&A from Gerry Dulac himself. Started in 1999, the outing has become one of the area’s premiere golf events while raising funds for numerous Parkway West Rotary Club charities and causes throughout the area.

Note that the date has been recently changed – July 11 – and get your golf gear ready for a fantastic time on the greens. Take a look at the brochure for details and register today!

Can’t make the date, or can’t get enough golf? Enter the “Great Golf Course” Raffle and win a foursome to five of the best clubs in Western PA, including Sewickley Heights, St. Clair, Nevillewood, Olde Stonewall, and Shepherds Rock. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the library or online through Parkway West Rotary Club. Drawing held at 7:00 p.m. on July 17.
